Spanish studio El Equipo Creativo has designed an interior for the Bellavista del Jardín del Norte restaurant in the center of Barcelona. Based on the idea of your home away from home, the design refers to the image of daily life and festive spirit of small Spanish villages.
The name, meaning beautiful view of the garden in the north, refers to the large garden at the end of the restaurant. This garden is a surprising oasis in the center of Barcelona. It also inspired the name of the restaurant as if it related to a name of a small town.
The entrance of Bellavista del Jardín del Norte greets you with thousands of hanging flowers reminiscent of flower feasts. Immediately you are transported to your family’s village or that quaint town you passed through while travelling.
Different elements in the form of metal kiosks guide the guests through the restaurant space until they reach the garden. These elements are the stylization of the places that you can come across in villages and small towns. Here the guests can visit a grocery or a newsstand, a local pub or a cake shop with grandmother’s cakes, sweets, and ice cream. Flowers and lights on the ceiling accompany the guests to the plaza (main square) with a church. This plaza, overlooking the garden, becomes the icing on the cake as it features an open space underneath a sky of fireworks.
The final result of the design creates a sensation of a familiar setting for many Spanish people – going back home for the yearly village feast and enjoying homemade food. Each corner is as surprising as it is familiar.
