Bumble Opens Its First Restaurant in New York to Help People Date IRL

Popular dating app Bumble has teamed up with Pasquale Jones to launch its first Bumble Brew restaurant in the Nolita neighborhood of New York City. The new space, which is going to open its door on July 24, promises to provide a venue for the community to gather, for genuine connections to be built, and for guests to interact.

Designed by local firm FLOAT Design Studio, the new 3,760 sqft (349 sqm) restaurant will feature the app’s recognizable yellow and comprise an 80-seat dining room, a cocktail bar, patio dining, and private dining. The space is multifunctional and will be adjusted for hosted events and scheduled programming.

It is not the first time Bumble has expanded beyond the online world. The idea of Bumble Brew was inspired by the success of the Bumble Hive pop-ups, which are temporary spaces that act as a physical embodiment of the app.

The first Bumble Hive launched in New York City’s Soho neighborhood in June 2017 and has since popped up in cities such as Los Angeles, Austin, and London. The Bumble Hive acts as a community space where people can enjoy food and drinks, foster connections, and experience entertainment and interactive sessions, all in one place.

“At Bumble, we’re fueled by bringing people together to build genuine connections – both on and off the app,” said Julia Smith, Head of Brand Partnerships at Bumble. “We’ve seen a resounding response to the Bumble Hive pop-ups we’ve hosted around the world and noticed a clear appetite for a permanent space where people could connect. We’re excited to partner with Delicious Hospitality Group to bring this to life through our first brick-and-mortar location in New York City through Bumble Brew. We hope that people can gather at Bumble Brew and connect over an espresso or delicious meal, whether it’s with friends, a potential partner, or a new business connection.”

Bumble Brew will be a fun, upbeat space with the music to match. In this case, guests will dine to the sounds of a primarily women-based collection from across genres. Guests can expect what they love from Pasquale Jones to translate into this new space: delicious and honest food, excellent wine, strong design, and exceptional hospitality. The Italian-inspired menu will focus predominantly on vegetables, handmade pasta, and shareable plates.
