Design Humor: iPhone Case with Built-In Spoon and Fork

From time to time, you probably meet people who never take their eyes off their smartphone screens no matter what they are doing (or maybe you are one of them). Especially for such people, the Singaporean designer Sergey Mast and engineer Thaechawat Treevitchukorn have designed sphoon_phork – the world’s first iPhone case with built-in spoon and fork. Now you can simultaneously eat and browse for only $39.

“For over 12,000 years, humankind has strived to create the perfect civilization,” describe the authors of the project. “We invented agriculture. We invented the wheel. We created a system of laws. We sent people to space. Now, a new chapter in our history has begun.”

Of course, this project is a kind of joke. Mast says that he wanted to check if the world has completely gone crazy. However, the authors have launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, and they are going to produce the cases if the campaign raises $11,037 or more.

The sphoon_phork case now is compatible only with iPhone 7, 8, X, and XS. Once the campaign is backed, the authors plan to introduce more colors and adapt the design to other smartphone models, such as iPhone XS Max, iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S9, Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus, Galaxy Note 9, Huawei Mate 20, Huawei Mate 20 Pro, Huawei P20 Pro, Google Pixel 3, Google Pixel 3 XL, and Sony Xperia XZ3.
