Pink Punch installation by Nicholas Croft and Michaela MacLeod

Based on a traditional tree wrapping technique that is used to protect trees from the elements, Nicholas Croft and Michaela MacLeod created a colourful installation Pink Punch. Using 1-inch fluorescent pink latex rope, they turned a small cluster of trees into a comfortable garden room. The ropes wrap each trunk from a height of 10 feet to the base and then around the trees, forming individual or group seating areas where visitors can relax.

The installation was created as a part of Jardins de Métis International Garden Festival 2013 where it won the first prize. It is meant to be temporary and will be re-installed the following year in a different place.
