Compact Living:: Studio W in Brazil by AMBIDESTRO

Living in small spaces is a growing worldwide trend and it is coming to Brazil. This 40 sqm studio apartment in Porto Alegre was designed by the Brazilian design studio AMBIDESTRO to show how it is possible today to live with comfort, design, and elegance in a compact space.

The layout is based on the concept of full integration between spaces. There are two multifunctional blocks lining the perimeter of the studio. The white block is composed of a kitchen with built-in appliances, bench, barbecue, closets, and the entrance door, defining the social area of the apartment. The two-sided sofa designed by AMBIDESTRO offers seats both in the living and dining areas. The wooden block defines the warmest area of the apartment, a more intimate space that includes a wardrobe, bathroom, and a sleeping area.

AMBIDESTRO: ‘The idea is combining compact spaces with quality and functionality and invest in the common areas of the projects. The words of the moment are integration and sharing. Architecture and design end up becoming strong tools to express the thought of our time and that is what we aimed to implement in this concept studio.’

Good project but bad choice for TV because strong light makes screens harder to see! Bad for yes!
