What would you do with your old car? People usually sell them or send for recycling. Not in Netherlands! They hang Jaguars on walls and use as cabinets! Likewise, never throw away skateboards – together, they turn into a nice stair!

Surfing the Internet and browsing through different images, I found just that photo with a classic Jaguar on the wall. It surprised me so much that I wanted to know more about the house itself. The authors of the project are Amsterdam-based studio denieuwegeneratie architecten. Generally, there are lots of interesting and surprising things inside, absolutely different in styles and related to different cultures. On some views, the interior looks like a real museum!

After the light and spacious interior, it is rather unexpected that, from the outside, the house is half hidden in a ground. The client wanted to keep his ecological footprint with the house to a minimum and the architects strove to minimize disturbance of the landscape’s views. The solution answers both demands: it hides the house from the north and allows using the earth as thermal insulation.
