Today we would like to introduce a young Serbian industrial designer Marko Vuckovic. Marko graduated from Polytechnic University of Belgrade in 2009 with a major in Industrial Design. His design is an attempt to bring the elements of natural landscapes to a city environment. To reach this, Marko connects natural elements with artificial, making them work together.
The Tree Bench
The design of The Tree Bench has been inspired by connection between people and nature. Trees are the important component of natural landscape; they also play an important role in producing oxygen and reducing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The bench have five holes on the top – one is for tree and other four are for the grass. It is easy to produce and easy to install almost everywhere – on streets, beaches, in parks and even inside buildings. In conditions when it rains, water passes through the cavities on the bench, maintaining the grass and the tree.

The Grass Lamp
The Grass Lamp is a concept that is designed to bring warmth and uniqueness in home interior by using natural elements. The concept incorporates a part of nature right inside the house to represent a modern and eco-friendly aesthetic of the home interior. Produced of light PVC and housing an ultraviolet light, The Grass Lamp design truly has the ability to grow a lawn inside a house.

The Coral Lamp
The Coral Lamp is the innovative lighting system inspired by the shapes of endangered coral species. The system consists of a square-shaped base and a series of coral-shaped light bulbs. Each bulb is powered by solar energy, which is collected with the help of solar panels at the top of the base unit. The Coral Lamp needs to be placed by the window in order to collect solar energy in the daytime, so it could light all the night.

The Sunflower Monitor
Designing The Sunflower Monitor, Marko drew inspiration from nature. The monitor has a special ‘sun mode’ that could be activated when the display is not in use. In this mode the device turns on its axis to the sun making the integrated solar panels collect the maximum of solar energy as well as flowers do. It is possible with the help of four light sensors, which track the sun, and an integrated joint. In case there is no electricity, we can run Sunflower OS. The own hard drive and OS of The Sunflower Monitor makes it possible to transfer data with mobile devices, listen to music, view pictures and surf the web.
